Every time I notice the egg count sliding off I know to look for a snakes (or snakes).
The count was down a bit yesterday and this is what we found this morning. Unfortunately she had already eaten 6 of my FERTILE eggs I was trying to hatch! Imagine the hen that sits through that!

A pretty pest

We found LOTS of these cute little buggers eating the parsley and dill.
Instead of killing them I collected them and found a different host plant for them. Butterflies and their caterpillars are finicky creatures. Most will only feed on one or two plant species.
